This organism is very abundant in the PSHS-CLC dormitory. It is usually seen near windows during the day. At night, it flies around disturbing the dormers living in the building.
About Yam Hawk Moths
While not feeding on plants such as yam (Discoreaceae), the Yam hawk moth can be seen during night time near light sources due to their attraction to light sources also known as positively phototatic .They are recorded to be active during the rainy season. These moths are some of the faster flying insects; capable of flying at over 5.3 m/s. Their wingspan ranges from 4 to over 10 cm.
